About the client

Aalberts is a cutting-edge technology company specialising in solutions for four end markets: sustainable buildings, semiconductor efficiency, sustainable transport and industrial niche markets. The company develops energy-efficient systems, manufactures advanced piping systems for the safe and efficient transport of gases and liquids, and works on the optimisation of HVAC systems. Aalberts is also active in the development of mechatronics and advanced technologies.

About the project

In 2025, Aalberts faces the challenge of meeting the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). A first step in this process is to identify the material ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) themes. For this project, we carried out a comprehensive double materiality analysis. We compiled a list of themes relevant to Aalberts and mapped out the impact on people and the environment as well as the financial repercussions for the company. We then assessed these impacts and created a materiality matrix. This way, a clear distinction is made between material and non-material themes. This methodology bolsters Aalberts’ sustainability strategy, which is essential for successful compliance with the CSRD. The results of  the analysis are included in the Aalberts 2023 Annual Report.
