About the client
Koninklijk Hibin is a leading network organisation within the construction materials industry, specialised in representing and supporting traders in construction materials. The company promotes the development of sustainable and innovative solutions for the construction industry. Koninklijk Hibin engages in collective bargaining, advocacy and lobbying, and offers advice and support in the fields of legislation, social issues, knowledge development, logistics, sustainability, circularity and IT/digitalisation. With a focus on professionalisation and knowledge sharing, Royal Hibin contributes to the advancement of the construction materials sector and to making it sustainable.
About the project
For Royal Hibin, we organised a series of three practical working sessions to support members and share knowledge on CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) law and regulations. These sessions were designed to properly prepare members for the requirements and processes associated with the CSRD.
Activities
The first session focused on providing basic information on the CSRD, whereby its content, requirements and implications for members were explained.
The second session covered the development of a detailed, step-by-step plan for CSRD reporting. This plan outlined each step of the reporting process, the actions to be taken, and the responsible party. A hands-on approach was taken using a fictitious construction materials wholesaler, whereby members carried out the first steps of CSRD reporting to gain practical insight.
The third session built around the fictitious construction materials wholesaler and dealt with the final steps of CSRD reporting, including the conduct of a double materiality analysis (DMA). A data request form has also been provided for the collection of data on the material theme ‘E5 Raw materials from suppliers’.
Results
These working sessions have provided Koninklijk Hibin and its members with practical tools and in-depth knowledge to be able to comply with the CSRD.
