About the commissioning party

As a grid operator, Alliander is responsible for the supply of electricity and (bio)gas. To ensure the efficient and reliable supply of energy to more than three million consumers and businesses, Alliander focuses on developing sustainable and innovative solutions to ensure a future-proof energy grid.  

About the project

Alliander asked 2BHonest to identify occupational, human rights and environmental risks in preparation for meeting the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) in 2027.  

Activities

We supported Alliander by first collating the relevant value chains. We then identified risks through a risk scan and interviews with internal and external stakeholders. We prioritised these risks on a salience scale and drew up a short and long term action plan to mitigate the risks.  

Result

These insights enable Alliander to clearly identify risks in its own operations, chains and business relationships and to adopt a robust process for chain responsibility. This leads to efforts aimed atreducing and preventing risks in the future.
